Message from the State Representative
Brothers,
I greet you in the strong name of Omega, as I stand ready for the
challenges that await me as your newly elected State Representative. I
would like to say thank-you again for your support in electing me as
your next leader. I further solemnly promise to uphold the Constitution
& Bylaws that govern this great fraternity. It is time for us as an
organization to strip ourselves of our petty differences, come together
as one body and continue to move forward, with your help, input and
commitment we can achieve the unthinkable.
The State of Mississippi continues to flourish and comprises itself of
four-hundred (400) plus brothers who uphold the Cardinal Principles of
Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift, with your help we as an
organization intend to increase these numbers by an all out campaign of
Reclamation and Retention. The members of our organization have set
themselves apart from others, as we continue to be leaders within our
communities, role models for the young and old, and most of all
elitists.
As your State Representative, my plan is very simple, reduce
expenditures, build better working relations, mend torn relationships,
dispel all doubts that Mississippi doesn't count, increase productivity
and provide guidance and direction for our Undergraduate brothers with
the help of their advisors, and most of all take care of the
brotherhood. In addition if you the Great State of Mississippi stand
with me and not behind me, we can be a beacon of shinning light for
others to see, not only within the Mighty 7th District, but throughout
the fraternity.
In today's society were times have grown economically challenging, the
world is in constant conflict, and we as Omega's have been called to
serve on the front lines, to provide a service and a duty to those less
fortunate. We have to continue to support the ideals and principles in
which our great fraternity was founded upon. The State of
Mississippi will be heard and most of all recognized for our
outstanding achievements. We as an organization will remain steadfast
and committed as it relates to conducting programs that uplift our
communities. Our mandated programs, innovative in nature as they are,
were designed to provide educational, social and financial support to
those African Americans who are in dire need of our assistance. We as
an organization should have the strength of that "mustard seed" as we
move into the next phase, we need to be focused on developing and
supporting our young black males, which at times seem lost or
misguided.
So, as your State Representative, I humbly ask for opinions, concerns,
and sound advice as it relates to the direction of the Omega Psi Phi
Fraternity, Inc., State of Mississippi Organization.
On behalf of the State of Mississippi Executive Council we feel certain
that we are taking steps for the betterment of the brotherhood, it is
our goal and mission that we provide you the State Organization with
the support and assistance you so desire.

even at the risk of displeasing others. He must believe that the group
wants from him a sense of approval. If this feeling prevails,
production, discipline, morale will be high, and in return, you can
demand the cooperation to promote the goals of the company." Vince
